2024 Lamar Awards and Scholarship Presentations

By Adam Olivier, 28 May 2024

Last week Sul Ross Lodge gave five $3,000 Lamar Awards to local high school students from College Station. Our lodge also gave a $5,000 Lamar Award to one very deserving high school teacher from a College Station High School. A presentation on the life and accomplishments of Brother Mirabeau B. Lamar was read by the Senior Warden, the Worshipful Master introduced each of the awardees, and the Junior Warden handed each awardee their certificate, medal, and check. Thanks to the brethren who attended this meeting and those who served on the Lamar Award Committee – and thanks to our Treasurer for taking the pictures.

Sul Ross Holds It’s 2023 Annual Festive Board

by Scott Bratsen, July 25, 2023

Last month on June 17th, the brethren of Sul Ross Lodge, along with visiting brethren of other lodges in the area, gathered together at Cafe Capri in Downtown Bryan for the 2023 Annual Festive Board. The festive board is held to celebrate the close of the Masonic Year and honor the Master of the Lodge before his term expires. Those present enjoyed a wonderful dinner followed by ceremonial toasts. The guest speaker was R:.W:. Jim Rumsey, Grand Jr. Warden of the Grand Lodge of Texas. The presentation he gave to the brethren was over the history of our masonic work, which was enjoyed by all who were present.
